FAQ's

  • Do you take reservations?
    We do not take reservations for any river activities. It is run on a first come first serve basis. It is best to plan to arrive early so that you can have a leisurely float.  If you would like to make a reservation for camping, please contact us (608) 253-6181.
  • How many tubes do you have? Do they go fast?
    We have over 1,000 tubes , so we are able to get you on your way quickly.
  • Are pets allowed on the tubes?
    No pets are allowed on the tubes.
  • Are pets allowed on the Kayaks or Canoes?
    We do allow dogs with you on the canoes and kayaks.
  • What if I am not camping? Can I launch or land my canoe or boat at the boat launch?
    You may launch or land your private canoe or kayak at Point Bluff for a small fee.
  • Can I bring my own tube and launch from the drop off?
    We do not allow any inflatables or boats to be launched or landed at our drop off for tubing.
  • What should I do with my trash during the float?
    Please do not leave litter or trash anywhere on the river. Please bring a garbage bag to collect your trash. Trash cans and recycle bins are available to you when you reach the Rock Bar or land on Point Bluff’s shoreline.
  • What if there is a storm rolling in?
    If there is lightning or thunder or heavy rains in the area we will not put anyone out on the river.  We will keep an eye on any weather concerns and will be patrolling the river with our jet ski throughout the day.
  • Do you provide refunds due to weather?
    As you know mother nature is unpredictable. Once you are on the river we do not provide refunds due to weather.
  • How high does the river need to be for unsafe conditions?
    We will close all water activities due to high water levels. When the river reaches over 10,000 cubic feet per second the current gets too fast for safe trips and we will cease operations until the water level drops. Check the river levels below.
  • What is the camping cancelation policy?
    Cancellation 2 weeks prior to reservation- no charge Cancellation less than 2 weeks prior to reservation-50% charge Cancellation 48 hours or less prior to reservation-full charge
  • What if I want to pull of on to the river bed?
    Please respect our neighbors along the way. The river is their backyard.
  • Can I bring glass on the river?
    No, glass is not allowed on the river. We will check coolers for glass and confiscate it if you do.
  • Can I use a Styrofoam cooler?
    No, Styrofoam is not allowed on the river. Our new cooler tubes are now a little larger for better fit.
  • Is the river sand or rocky bottom?
    The river is mostly sand bottom, however there are some parts of the river that will be rocky. The ending of the trip is the rockiest part of the trip.
  • I heard the Wisconsin River is dangerous, should I be nervous?
    Our team strives to provide a safe and memorable experience. We have a team that will cruise up and down the river to help guide you and make sure everyone has an enjoyable trip.
  • What should I do with my belongings?
    DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING IMPORTANT ON THE RIVER. Please keep any important items in your locked in your car. We will collect your car keys and hold them for you while you are on the river. You can retrieve them when your trip is over. This ensures you do not lose your keys, and we got everyone off the river.
  • Does the bar take card?
    Yes, the bars accepts card and cash payments.
  • How long is the river tubing trip?
    The River Tubing can take 3-5 hours depending on the water levels and wind. There is a bar about half way down the river that you may exit the river and grab some food or end your trip and bus back to Point Bluff. Tubes must be back at Point Bluff by 6:00pm.
  • What if I forgot my sunscreen?
    We have a small selection of convenience items where you come to register for your trip.
  • Does Point Bluff Resort serve food?
    We serve pizza, giant pretzels and chips.
  • What age restrictions do you have for the river?
    We do not allow children under the age of 3 years old on our trips. Under the age of 18 must have at least 1 parent or guardian with them.
  • Can I bring my fishing pole on the tube?
    we do not allow bringing fishing poles on the tubes.
  • Is there electricity and water on site?
    Yes, the main campground has upgraded 30 amp, 50 amp, and 110 electric hookups and water hookups on each site.
  • Where are the restrooms?
    For the front campground porta johns are available for your convenience and you are only a few steps from the bar. There is a shower building with restrooms in the center of the campgrounds. There are signs posted through out the park. The bar also has a restroom available during business hours. ​
  • Do you have camping for large groups or other camping options?
    Primitive camping is located at the back of the campground. There is minimal shade, no electric or running water in the primitive camping area. Please bring water and shade. There is a spring available that provides fresh cold drinking water. Shower house is a short walk a way. ​
  • Is there a dump station available for RVs?
    Yes, we provide a dump station. It is located by the entrance to the campground.
  • What should I expect if there is a lot of rain?
    With the campground being so close to the river we are prone at times to some flooding. We may have to move you to higher ground if the campground is too wet or underwater. We do have additional sites at our sister resort.
  • When is the Campgrounds quiet time?
    Quiet time for the campground is from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. Please respect your neighbors during these quiet times by keeping voices and music to a minimum.
  • What should I do with the garbage bags and garbage from the stay?
    Trash bins and recycle bins are located near the resort entrance. We ask that you separate your trash and recyclables and deposit them in the proper bins as you leave. Do not leave trash on your site or in the fire rings.
  • Are dogs allowed at the resort?
    We are a pet friendly resort. Dogs must be well behaved and non aggressive. They must be leashed at all times and you must clean up after them.
  • What do the campsites provide?
    All campsites provide a fire ring and picnic table. The river edge sites include electric and water.
  • What are the season hours for the bar?
    This year, 2024, the bar is open from March 16th-October 15th and is closed in the winter. Weather permitting.
